Like a beacon for black excellence and empowerment, John Que drops the jam-packed “BLACK MONEY” project. Running 15 tracks long, sandwiched between two, thought-inspiring skits from comedian, Michael Che, “BLACK MONEY” is truly a concept album at heart. It pulls a plethora of talented, African-American artists into orbit, by way of its star-striking features (Mr Hussell Hard, LG, Nikieta and Honey Brown); maintains its divinity with a reference to “black” in each and every song title (“Black Out”, “Black Jesus”. “Black Lives Matter”, “Black To The Future”); and accelerates through a range of African American musicality, from Soul and Gospel, to the grimiest Boom-Bap. And not a single element of that trinity is disappointed by John Que’s performance. Coasting a theme of impactful basslines, which pulsate throughout the entirety of “BLACK MONEY”, John Que is never in a shortage of conscious commentary and mind-blowing bars. No wonder why this Mobile, Atlanta emcee is coined the “Freestyle King” of the underground. He is relentless with his deliverance of rhymes; opting on each song to either highlight the state of blacks in America, or uplift his brothers and sisters with matchless, lyrical empowerment. Such makes John Que a poignant force on the microphone, and “BLACK MONEY” an already timeless, Hip-Hop artifact of the decade. For those of us who still value Black History Month, and eagerly awaited its arrival, this is the quintessential soundtrack for our celebration; and John Que is the quintessential artist to crown.

There’s a pure, shining spirituality dwelling within Wisconsin singer/producer, Tanner Mitchell Zingsheim’s, recent cut, “V01D”. Under his alias, Spectrum Bender, the Colgate, devout Christian seeks to seal every last one of us in a vacuum of love; doing so through a marriage of poignant proclamation and prismatic production. The lustrous track kicks off with a buttery chord progression; satisfied solely by a recurring kick-drum, and Bender’s gentle croon. It is incredibly minimal in the totality of its glory, before converging into several evolutions of grandiose, pop production. Once upon the hook, “V01D” accelerates its aforementioned kick drum into a progressive, four-to-the-floor rhythm, backed by glittering, electronic percussions. Eventually, these elements transcend into instrumental interludes, where a trotting kick and 808 snare carry a surge of intricate key and synth breakdowns. Near the end of this productive gorgeousness, we are circled back to Bender’s chorus, where he once again breathes “Into the void we welcome love”.

Verily, this Midwest talent puts God and Christ first; as there is a holy undertone to this entire creation. His attention, and furthermore, appreciation for detail results in a heavenly, pop opus only the heartless could reject. Even as “V01D” goes quiet, at the end of its two minute and twenty-seven seconds of excellence, that won’t be the end of your engagement with Bender. You’ll be dying to explore the rest of his magical catalogue.

Gryhme… Thee EP is exactly what is sounds like… Grime plus rhymes. Obi Khan brings the grimiest of vocals I’ve heard in a while… he sounds almost like a grime goblin. Yet the rhymes within that grimey voice are on point. Obi Khan delivers messages of true life struggles and deep personal topics with playful references that listeners can relate to. The production of most of the tracks from producer Thanos Beats who brings an old school bounce but with hard feel to match that grime style of Obi Khan. All around, Gryhme can be listened to casually just bumping tunes but should also be listened to closely to grab important jewels. Some of our favorite tracks to listen to were: Voices In My Head, The Circus, Check the Grhyme, The Life. Follow Obi Khan's growing movement and get the full project on Bandcamp today.

Listen the 1st chapter as Toronto rapper, Soap, is "Headed To the 6". Soap is as entertaining as ever as he describes a night of women, drinks, and debauchery! His rap is mostly about trying to stick his d*ck in the hole lol. He also takes you on an amazing comical tour of his town while hitting all the city's hotspots like EFS, TJ's, etc. Soap says, "Heading to the Six" is boom bap club track with a catchy melody and hook I show how I flow on the track". "Headed To the 6" is a standout track from Soap's new project, "Down In the 6".  @Captainsoap64

This shit is ill!!! AfterPxrty is cementing his name into the game with a consistent string of good hiphop hits. This time he releases a lyrical gem, "99 Problems". He spits with supreme confidence over an uptempo beat with one of the dopest snare drums I've ever heard! AfterPxrty says, "99 Problems" is from my upcoming new project "No Rest for the Wicked" that was inspired by the Clipse "Hell Hath No Fury" album". @JustAfterPxrty

We just came across a dope new project titled "Shit For The Birds". This 8 track collection is packed with street anthems and club bangerz! DMV's Legend/Queen City's own, HeveWae, came equipped along with Pittsburgh's Finest DJ, Dj BRICKZ to set the game on fire! This EP is packed high enegry raw action flow and top notch production that will have your speakers leaking and ears fiending for more. Twitter and IG: @hevewae

Hevewae (heavy way) is another DMV area, now lived in Charlotte NC, Hip-Hop MC who's music is in the realm of what is known in the region as Crank Muzik - what more as 21st Century Forward Crunk Hip-Hop style of vibe. Hevewae definitely has some energetic, tear the club up street Hip-Hop music going on that can fit in with any of the lastest Southern Hip-Hop joints on blast on the radio and video channels now and hopefully, Hevewae can get signed and/or some solid distribution with someone who's quality to get the music out there to more of the masses.
